Machachi offers one of the best altitudes in Ecuador for proper acclimatization before high-altitude climbs. Staying at 3,000 meters allows your body to adapt gradually, reducing the risk of altitude sickness and improving your chances of a successful summit.
From Casa del MontaƱero, climbers have easy access to several acclimatization hikes and peaks such as Pasochoa, CorazĆ³n, RumiƱahui, Sincholagua, and the Iliniza volcanoes, making Machachi the ideal base before attempting major objectives like Cotopaxi or Chimborazo.
